Wake of former president Ramos starts Aug. 4

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 2)— The wake of former president Fidel V. Ramos will officially start on Thursday at the Heritage Park in Taguig, his family announced.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ramos’ family said there will be designated dates and times for specific sectors to help manage the flow of visitors and “better adhere to COVID-19 precautions.”

Here are the details of the wake and visiting hours:

Thursday, August 4

7:00 am-2:30 pm: Government Officials

3:00-4:30 pm: Members of the Ramos Cabinet and RPDEV

5:00 pm: Service/Mass

6:30-8:00 pm: Prepared Tributes

10:00 pm: end of visiting hours

Friday, August 5

7:00 am-2:30 pm: Government Officials, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Members of the Business Community, and Members of Civil Society Organizations

3:00-4:30 pm: Former Malacañang Press Corps, DND Press Corps, and FOCAP

5:00 pm: Service/Mass

6:30-8:00 pm: Prepared Tributes

Saturday, August 6

The inurnment, meanwhile, will take place on August 9 at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Ramos — popularly called FVR — was the 12th president from 1992 to 1998. A 10-day national period of mourning was declared following his death.
