Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 26) – Donation drives were formed to assist the family of Jeneven Bandiala, the security guard who is one of the three fatalities in the tragic shooting incident inside the Ateneo De Manila University campus in Quezon City on Sunday.
The university management created a QR code where interested donors can scan, while promising to extend financial assistance to Bandiala’s family.
The Ateneo Law School Class of 2022 also put up a donation drive to lend a hand in assisting the family of the slain guard.
Members of the class were supposed to graduate on Sunday, but their commencement exercises were cancelled after suspect Dr. Chao Tiao Yumol shot former Lamitan, Basilan mayor Rose Furigay at the school’s Arete building.
Furigay, her long-time aide Victor Capistrano, and Bandiala were all killed in the incident. Bandiala attempted to stop Yumol from shooting, but he was also gunned down by the suspect, according to police.
The former Lamitan mayor was supposed to attend the graduation of her daughter Hannah, who got injured during the incident.
The Loyola Schools Office of Guidance and Counselling announced it is offering a scheduled one-on-one debriefing for those affected by the deadly shooting.
