PH logs over 19,000 COVID-19 cases on July 18-24, up 33% from previous week

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 25) — The country recorded 19,536 new COVID-19 cases from July 18 to 24, 33% higher than the previous week, the Department of Health said on Monday.

This means a daily average of 2,791 cases, the highest since Feb. 13.

A total of 42 new deaths were also verified, which occurred between April and October 2021, DOH’s weekly bulletin added.

No new deaths were recorded from July 11 to 24.

The department also reported 56 new critical infections, while 666 critical infections are currently admitted to hospitals.

Over 71.5 million individuals have so far completed their primary doses of COVID-19 shots, which is 91.61% of the target population, the agency noted. Vaccination among the elderly is at 77.87%, it added.

Meanwhile, more than 15.9 million have received their booster shot.
