Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 22) — A familiar face among the University of Santo Tomas (UST) community will be calling the shots for its men’s basketball team.
According to a report by the school’s official student publication The Varsitarian on Friday, Bal David is set to become the new UST Growling Tigers head coach.
David played for UST from 1991 to 1995, leading the Growling Tigers capture back-to-back titles in 1993 and 1994.
The 5-foot-9 guard spent his entire 10-year pro career with Barangay Ginebra, where he won two PBA titles and was named All-Star four times.
UST is coming off a seventh place finish in UAAP Season 84 with a 3-11 win-loss record.
