Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 10) — Paolo Sandejas was over the moon when he learned that V of K-Pop supergroup BTS jammed to his song “Sorry”.
An hour-long vlog uploaded to BANGTANTV YouTube channel on July 9 showed V taking some carefree driving. He visited his dentist, ate good food, and played golf.
V seemed to know the lyrics well as he sang along “Sorry” while driving.
Filipino ARMYs—the BTS’ fanbase—were quick to notice this and immediately called Sandejas’ attention on social media.
He also listened to his favorite music throughout the vlog and one of the songs played was by local solo artist Paolo Sandejas.
“It’s just insane to me that he even knows I exist. What’s more is that he enjoys my music—which is insane to me. I’m really honored and grateful,” Sandejas said in a separate reaction video shared exclusively to CNN Philippines.
“Sorry”, which was released almost two years ago, was a song that came out of heartbreak, Sandejas explained. Despite that, he said he is glad that the song he wrote was enjoyed by a lot of people.
“Whether they are happy or sad, just enjoying the song that I wrote is insane. The heartbreak was worth it in the end, I guess,” he added.
Sandejas thanked the ARMYs for supporting Original Pilipino Music and hoped they continue to support it whether they were from other parts of the world.
As of writing, V’s DRIVE VLOG has garnered 6.4 million views.
