
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 20) — The country logged an average of 436 COVID-19 cases on June 13 to 19, reflecting an 82% rise from the previous week, the Department of Health’s weekly bulletin on Monday showed.
It noted 3,051 new infections for the week. Of the fresh cases, 15 are in critical and severe condition.
Meanwhile, six deaths were also confirmed, including one each in January 2022, September 2021, June 2021, April 2021, and two in March 2021.
For healthcare utilization, 18.2% of non-intensive care unit beds — or 4,033 out of 22,156 beds— were occupied. Meanwhile, 14.6% or 385 ICU beds out of 2,636 were utilized.
The DOH added that a total of 554 patients with severe or critical condition were admitted to the hospital.
The vaccination coverage rate for the target population reached 77.81%, and 77.47% for the target elderly population. Meanwhile, 14.85 million individuals have been boosted against COVID-19.
The DOH earlier said while a surge in cases is always possible, they do not see this happening anytime soon.
