
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 15)— The National Capital Region will remain under the lowest COVID-19 risk classification until the end of June, Malacañang announced on Wednesday.
Acting presidential spokesperson Martin Andanar said that Metro Manila is among the areas under Alert Level 1 from June 16 to 30.

The pronouncement comes amid warning from independent group OCTA Research that COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila are increasing at a “slightly faster pace.” The watchdog projected that daily infections could reach up to 500 by the end of the month.
The Department of Health, however, said there was no basis yet to raise the alert level in the region as there are other metrics being monitored.
