Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 13) — Commission on Elections acting chairman Socorro Inting has retained Rex Laudiangco as the poll body’s acting spokesperson.
“Please advised that you shall continue to be the Acting Spokesperson of the Commission until the assumption of the new Chairman,” the memorandum signed by Inting read.
Laudiangco was designated by former Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan, whose appointment was earlier bypassed by the Commission on Appointments, three days before the May 9 polls.
Laudiangco replaced James Jimenez, who was relieved from his post in the wake of controversy over the cancellation of the poll body’s last presidential and vice-presidential debates scheduled April 23 and 24.
