Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 8) — j-hope, the rapper-dancer of pop supergroup BTS, will make history as the first South Korean artist to headline a main stage at a major US music festival.
He is set to have a solo performance at the Lollapalooza on July 31 in Chicago, Illinois, the festival organizers announced on Wednesday.
The artist, who is heavily influenced by hip-hop and street style, will perform on the last day.
The other stage headliners are Metallica, Dua Lipa, Machine Gun Kelly, J. Cole, and Green Day.
j-hope’s solo mixtape “Hope World” released in 2018 is a smooth and groovy blend of musical genres, including synth-pop, alternative hip hop, funk-soul, and retro.
Tomorrow X Together (TXT), which is also under BigHit Music — the company behind BTS — will perform on July 30.
