Fire hits residential area in Tondo

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 8) — A fire broke out in a residential area in Tondo, Manila early Wednesday morning.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at 2:21 a.m. on the second floor of one of the establishments in Barangay 20, Parola compound. It reached second alarm at 2:33 a.m. It was declared under control at 3:16 a.m., while fire out was declared at 3:58 a.m.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, which affected 10 structures. Around 20 families lost their homes due to the raze.

The BFP said the cost of damages reached ₱20,000.
