A historic election concludes with another Marcos back in power and another Duterte in the second highest post. Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte won landslide victories in the May 9 polls after campaigning under an alliance of the country’s biggest political parties.
The two are set to lead a country still reeling from the pandemic with high inflation and rising government debt. The canvassing was completed in record time.
