Gilas Women remain unbeaten with 31-point rout of Vietnam in SEA Games

(CNN Philippines, May 19) — Gilas Pilipinas Women kept their undefeated run alive in the 31st Southeast Asian Games after dismantling host nation Vietnam, 118-87, Thursday at the Thanh Tri Gymnasium in Hanoi.

Khate Castillo waxed hot for the Philippines as she knocked down seven triples en route to 25 points.

Afril Bernardino and Gabi Bade contributed 14 points apiece for Gilas Women who improved their record to 3-0 in the tournament.

This year’s SEA Games basketball competition follows a round-robin format, with the country holding the best record bringing home the gold medal.

The Philippines will return to action against Singapore on May 21.
