Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 10) — A couple of big names in sports have won seats in the elections, as entertainment personalities are poised to win in their respective races.
Actor Robin Padilla, among the most talked about potential winner, is leading the senatorial race with over 26 million votes as per the unofficial, partial tally.
Fellow actor Arjo Atayde is also set to win a seat in Congress to represent Quezon City’s first district. He currently got over 111,000 votes, way ahead of his closest pursuer with more than 52,000.
Meanwhile, former Philippine Basketball Association players Dodot Jaworski, son of basketball legend Robert Jaworski, and James Yap have already been proclaimed vice mayor of Pasig City and councilor in San Juan City’s first district, respectively.
