Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 9) — Presidential bet and labor leader Leody De Guzman warned of a “possible anomaly” following vote-counting machine glitches on Election Day.
“Kung sa scanning machine ay mayroon nang posibleng anomalya, paano pa sa transmission na less transparent kumpara dito?” De Guzman said.
[Translation: If the scanning machine already has a possible anomaly, what about the transmission which is less transparent compared to it?]
Some 1,800 VCMs malfunctioned earlier in the day. Most had paper jams, rejected ballots, and faulty scanners.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said the issues have been resolved onsite.

De Guzman added the poll body should also investigate reports of election irregularities, including vote buying in Las Piñas; harassment of poll watchers in Carmona, Cavite; as well as election-related violence.
In a statement, the presidential hopeful said that almost two million votes could have been affected by the faulty machines.
