Oil companies announce fourth price rollback for 2022

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 2) — Fuel firms on Monday announced they will be slashing petroleum rates this week, marking the fourth price rollback for 2022.

Caltex, Cleanfuel, Flying V, Petro Gazz, Petron, Phoenix, PTT Philippines, Seaoil, and Unioil said they will cut per-liter prices of gasoline by ₱0.65 and diesel by ₱1.15 effective 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 3.

Kerosene prices will also go down by ₱1.15 per liter tomorrow, said Caltex, Flying V, Petron, and Seaoil.

The upcoming rollback succeeds the major price hike last week.

As of Apr. 26, per-liter prices have seen a net increase of ₱18.45 for gasoline, ₱31.45 for diesel, and ₱25.05 for kerosene since the start of the year, according to the Department of Energy.

LPG prices also lowered effective May 1

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) providers also announced over the weekend a downward rate adjustment, which took effect on May 1.

Petron and Phoenix LPG decreased per-kilogram prices of LPG by ₱5.75, while Solane announced a ₱5.73/liter price reduction.

Petron likewise slashed its Auto LPG prices by ₱3.22/kg and Phoenix LPG by ₱3.20/kg.
