
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 27) — Four persons were killed after a bridge in Loay, Bohol collapsed on Wednesday, authorities said.
According to Bohol police, the Clarin Bridge in Barangay Poblacion, Ubos in Loay, fell at 4:18 in the afternoon.
In an 8 p.m. update, Loay Mayor Atty. Hilario Ayuban confirmed that the casualties have already climbed to four, including an Austrian national.
“Several private vehicles were submerged into the river… Some vehicles were covered and trampled by heavy infrastracture,” a report from the Bohol Police Provincial Office stated.
Personnel from Bohol Philippine National Police, the coast guard, and the Bureau of Fire Protection are in close coordination with the local government of Loay. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

Authorities said 20 individuals were rescued from the accident.
Bohol Governor Art Yap also confirmed the numbers through Facebook Live at 11PM.
According to Gov. Yap, at least 11 vehicles fell into the river, including four 4-wheeler trucks, two tricycles, two motor bikes. and one dump truck.
