FILA Philippines CEO and owner Cris Albert dies

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 26) — FILA Philippines CEO and owner Cris Albert passed away on Saturday. She was 52 years old.

FILA Philippines on Monday confirmed the news of Albert’s “untimely passing” through a social media post, which Albert’s sister, actress Ana Abad Santos, shared on Facebook.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing on Saturday, April 23, 2022, of Fila Philippines CEO and owner, Ms. Cris Albert,” the company said. “Her family appeals to everyone to respect their privacy as they grieve in this time of immense loss. Details of her wake will be shared soon.”

Albert was reportedly found dead in a hotel in Singapore. The reason for her death was not disclosed.

Born Maricris Abad Santos Albert, she was also the founder of MA Holdings Inc. and the president and CEO of Isport Life Inc., the sole distributor and licensee of FILA products in the country.

Albert lived a life surrounded by fashion. She grew up watching her mother Wanda Louwallien, a supermodel and show choreographer, on runway shows. Albert obtained a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Assumption College in Makati then joined FILA as a marketing manager in 1992.

She was recognized as a trailblazer, bagging several awards including the Ayala Merchants award in 2006, a Pillar award for marketing excellence in 2007, a Dangal ng Bayan award for product and service excellence in 2008, and a Woman of Style and Substance award in 2013.
