Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 25) — Actress Nadine Lustre trended on Philippine social media on Monday night after posting a video endorsing Vice President Leni Robredo.
A few weeks after performing at Robredo’s rally in Pampanga, Lustre, who is also known to her supporters as “President Nadine,” made waves of traction online anew following the release of her video for the presidential aspirant.
The hashtag #PresNadine4PresLeni was one of the trending topics on Twitter. A similar video has also been posted on her Instagram account.
“Walang mas qualified na maging susunod na presidente kundi si [No one is more qualified to be the next president than] President Leni Robredo. Madam Leni, I got you,” Lustre said in a video message.
The actress also stressed that Robredo has served as vice president “tirelessly, faithfully and wholeheartedly amid the challenges.”
“Kaya ako, tataya ako sa [I will bet on the] best person who can give us that. Someone who can make us sleep better at night. Someone who can draw out our goodness and someone who can make us proud of ourselves,” she said.
Over the weekend, top Filipino artists also announced their support for Robredo, including Kathryn Bernardo and Vice Ganda.
