Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 23) — Iñigo Anton emerged as the overall champion of the eighth global edition of eRacing Grand Prix (ERGP), with four others securing their spot in the top 5 of Gold and Silver classes.
“I never thought I would ever come out the overall champion of the ERacing GP Global Edition 8,” Anton said in a Facebook post. “After joining 8 seasons, I finally did it!.”
The ERGP is an online motorsports competition that uses a driving simulator (sim), a console, or a computer.
Founded by former Formula 1 racer Alex Yoong, it consists of four classes — Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Copper.
Joining Anton in the Gold Class’ roster of winners are Axel Mariano Nocom in third place and Paul Faustino in fifth.
In the Silver class, Allen Drake Cruz finished second while Aldo Rey Balagulan, fifth.
Other sim racers who made it to the top 10 of each class came from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Australia, and the United States.
After four rounds, the Philippines placed third in standings in the Nations Cup with 453 points, following Malaysia and Singapore.
