
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 19) — De La Salle University led from start to finish as the Green Archers demolished the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers, 112-83, on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Schonny Winston posted a career-high 33 points and seven assists for the Green Archers who became the first team to breach the century mark in UAAP Season 84.
La Salle was off to a scorching start with a 29-8 blitz to dictate the tempo in the entire match.
It was all downhill for the Growling Tigers in the second half as the Green Archers continued to pounce with a 54-point output.
Justine Baltazar chipped in 17 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists for La Salle, while Evan Nelle and Michael Phillips added 16 points and 15 points, respectively.
Paul Manalang paced UST with 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
The Green Archers strengthened their hold of the third spot with a 6-3 win-loss slate while the Growling Tigers suffered their sixth setback in nine outings.
La Salle will next face the winless University of the East Red Warriors on April 21 while UST tackles the unbeaten Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles on the same day.
