Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 14) — Some ₱4.25 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated on Wednesday night in Taguig City, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported on Thursday.
About 625 grams of the substance were seized from four suspects during a planned operation in Labao St., Brgy. Ligid-Tipas, the NCRPO said in a statement.
“The planned operation was conducted by the SPD-District Drug Enforcement Unit that led to the arrest of four (4) high value targets wherein they were able to purchase ₱43,000.00 worth of shabu,” it said.
The police also retrieved one genuine ₱1,000 bill on top of 42 pieces of ₱1,000 boodle money, a digital weighing scale, a face mask container, and two yellow ecobags.
“The recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Crime Laboratory Office for analysis while complaints for Violation of Sections 5 and 11, under Article II of RA 9165 are now being prepared against the arrested suspects,” the NCRPO added.
NCRPO regional director Police Major General Felipe Natividad said this “proves that drug offenders do not observe any season in their transactions.”
“Nonetheless, this also bespeaks the unyielding efforts of our police force to eliminate illegal drugs at all times especially in the midst of the holy week,” he added.
