Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 13) — Celebrity daughter KC Concepcion on Wednesday announced she will join the cast of the upcoming American film “Asian Persuasion.”
“Onto day 3 of filming @asianpersuasionfilm! Thank you for joining us on this new journey. Grateful to be part of this Asian-American project, with our amazing cast & crew,” said Concepcion on her Instagram post with a screengrab of Variety Magazine’s feature of the film.
Concepcion will star opposite Filipino-American Hollywood actor Dante Basco in the romantic comedy directed by Tony Award and Grammy-winning producer Jhett Tolentino.
The 37-year-old actress will replace TV host-actress Toni Gonzaga who was previously announced as the lead actress for the film. However, Variety Magazine reported that Gonzaga had conflicts in her schedule.
“Asian Persuasion” cast members include Kevin Kreider, Paolo Montalban, Scarlett Sher, Celia Au, Geneva Carr, and newcomer Jax Bacani.
Aside from Concepcion, other Filipino and Fil-Am actors reported to be part of the cast are Black EyedPeas’ Apl.de.Ap, singer Yam Concepcion, pop artist Rachel Alejandro, comedienne Fe Delos Reyes, stand-up comedian Rex Navarrete, and heartthrob Tony Labrusca.
Filming has begun last Aprill 11.
