
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 8) – The stellar performance of Creamline Cool Smashers ace spiker Tots Carlos was rewarded after she bagged two of the top individual awards in the 2022 PVL Open Conference.
The awarding ceremony happened on Friday before Game 2 of the finals between Carlos’ squad against the Petro Gazz Angels.
The former University of the Philippines standout won the highest individual award – the Most Valuable Player plum – after she averaged 18.8 points in the pool play up to the quarterfinals and huge 24.5 points in the semifinals.
Carlos was also awarded with the Best Opposite Spiker plum.
She became the third Creamline spiker to win the conference MVP award after three-time winner Alyssa Valdez and Jema Galanza.
Meanwhile, four players of the Cignal HD Spikers also clinched individual awards.
Gel Cayuna bagged the Best Setter award while Roselyn Doria and Ria Meneses tied for the Best Middle Blocker trophy.
New Cignal acquisition Ces Molina shared the Best Outside Spiker plum with Petro Gazz ace Gretchel Soltones.
F2 Cargo Logistics libero Dawn Macandili completed the 2022 PVL Open Conference individual award winners as she was adjudged as the league’s Best Libero.
