According to the agency’s weekly bulletin posted on Monday, the daily case average during that period was 389, about 24% lower than the previous week (March 14-20).
There were no new critical infections recorded.
Of the 752 deaths, 107 (14.2%) occurred this month, 105 (14.0%) in February, and 52 (6.9%) in January.
The bulletin also listed 467 deaths from last year: 19 in December, 30 in November, 82 in October, 161 in September, 83 in August, 51 in July, 17 in June, eight each in May and April, two in March, one in February, five in January.
There were also 21 fatalities traced as far back as 2020: eight in December, seven in November, four in October, one in September, and one in August.
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 28) — The Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,726 new COVID-19 cases and 752 fatalities in the week of March 21- 27.
As for healthcare utilization rates, 4,613 out of 27,547 or 16.7% of non intensive care unit (ICU) beds are occupied. Meanwhile, 484 out of 3,204 ICU beds or 15.1% are being used.
There are currently 758 critical and severe cases in the hospital.
About 72.93% of the target population for vaccination have received their shots including 75.56% of the target elderly population (A2 group), the DOH added.
The total number of vaccinated individuals is more than 65.64 million, including 833,088 that received their doses in the recent week.
There were also over 11.83 million who got their booster shots — 294,675 from the recent week alone.
