MMA: Miado scores TKO win after Adiwang twists knee

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 26) – Jeremy Miado prevailed in the rare all-Filipino strawweight showdown in ONE: X, the 10th anniversary offering of the Singapore-based mixed martial arts organization ONE Championship.

Known as “The Jaguar,” Miado scored a second round technical knockout victory against compatriot Lito Adiwang in their strawweight bout on Saturday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Miado secured the win after Adiwang awkwardly twisted his right knee in the homestretch of the second round and went down in pain, causing the referee to stop the contest.

The Marrok Force standout zeroed in on the knee of his Team Lakay opponent in the second round with his low kicks, and even unleashed his signature flying knee.

It was a surprising ending to an exciting bout that pitted Adiwang’s aggressive strikes against Miado’s tactical hits.

The victory improved Miado’s slate to 11-4 while the Benguet native Adiwang suffered his second straight loss and dropped to 13-5.
