Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 21) — The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 3,572 new COVID-19 cases and 655 deaths in the week of March 14 to 20.

The agency’s weekly bulletin on Monday showed that the daily average during that week was 510 cases,13% lower compared to the week before, or from March 7 to 13.

Of the new cases, only one was in severe or critical condition.

The DOH said that 4,532 or 16.6% of 27,376 non-intensive care unit (ICU) beds are being used.

For ICU beds, 17.8% are occupied or 619 out of 3,473 beds.

There are currently 805 severe and critical cases in the hospital — 12.3% of total COVID-19 admissions.

About 72.41% of the target population for vaccination have received their shots. For the target elderly population or A2 group, 75.31% have been vaccinated.

In total, over 65.17 million people have been vaccinated, with 630,575 inoculated last week.

Meanwhile, more than 11.53 million have been boosted, including 370,191 that got the booster shots from March 14 to 20.

Over 300 deaths were traced to last year, with verified fatalities on all the 12 months.

There were also 15 deaths from 2020: two in December, five each in November and in October, two in September, and one in August.

The belated reporting is due to the late encoding of information to the COVIDKaya data storage system, the DOH explained.
