Ariana Grande, Bretman Rock trend for posts on Robredo

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 21) — American pop star Ariana Grande and Filipino social media personality Bretman Rock on Monday trended online for their social media posts about Vice President Leni Robredo, who is running for president.

Grande shared videos of the massive crowd in Pasig City singing her hit song “Break Free” to support the tandem of Robredo and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.

“I COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS WAS REAL 🥺🥺🥺🥺,” she captioned the Instagram stories.

Rock, meanwhile, said Robredo is his presidential bet of choice.

The influencer, who hails from Cagayan and is living in Hawaii, also shared Robredo’s closing statement for the Commission on Elections’ presidential debate over the weekend to his 18.2 million Instagram followers.

“This statement shook me to the core… My president is a WOMAN,” he wrote with the emoji of the Philippine flag.

Around 140,000 attended the People’s Rally in Pasig City on Sunday, the biggest show of force to date for Robredo’s presidential bid, according to her camp. Several celebrities, such as Angel Locsin, Donny Pangilinan, Julia Barretto and Robi Domingo, attended the event to support the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem.
