Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 17) — Poland’s Karolina Bielawska was crowned Miss World 2021 in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Thursday, besting over 90 other candidates.
Beauty with a Purpose winner Shree Saini of USA was the first runner up, while fan favorite Miss Côte d’Ivoire Olivia Yacé was named second runner up.
Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh, the longest reigning title holder, passed the prestigious blue crown to Bielawska.
During the coronation night, Singh also performed “The Prayer” in solidarity with Ukraine as it faces attacks from Russia.
Philippines’ Tracy Maureen Perez finished in the Top 13.
A new queen was crowned after a series of delays in the beauty pageant due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pageant was broadcast live on CNN Philippines.
