Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 7) — Mylene Paat was awarded best scorer in Volleyball Thailand League, the first Filipina to bag an individual award in an overseas volleyball league.
“Napakabuti mo PANGINOON! (You are so good, God!)” the former Adamson University opposite hitter said in an Instagram post.
Paat has also received the same award during the 2018 Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference.
Meanwhile, her club team Nakhonratchasima VC finished third in the tournament after defeating Konkhaen Star on Sunday, 25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 25-14.
Paat played alongside fellow Chery Tiggo Crossovers player Dindin Santiago-Manabat as imports in the Thai team.
Paat and Santiago-Manabat will return to the Crossovers to defend their championship title in the Premier Volleyball League which will start on March 16.
Last year, their Crossovers teammate Jaja Santiago also made history as the first Filipina to win a volleyball championship in an international league.
