
(CNN Philippines, March 6) — Filipino triathletes defended homecourt advantage after dominating the first 70.3 Ironman race in the country this year.
The event was held in Subic Bay on Sunday.
The 70.3-kilometer race consisted of a 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike, and 21.1 km run.
Local bets were the top 10 finishers among the hundreds of participants from around the world in the men’s and women’s categories.
Baguio-native Maynard Pecson came out on top in the men’s division, clocking in an official time of 4:45:28.
Meanwhile, Edna Agoo topped the women’s division with an official time of 5:56:01.
In the team relay, Team Tnst Sensi finished first in the male category with an official time of 4:38:36. T.t.N.S.T.T. Pasaway, meanwhile, emerged victorious in the female category with a time of 5:09:54.
