
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 3) — The Department of Health (DOH) logged 989 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday — less than 1,000 for the second straight day — pushing the nationwide tally to 3,664,905.
Of the total, 1.4% or 50,458 are active cases or currently sick patients with 45,510 experiencing mild symptoms; 2,773 in moderate condition; 1,415 with severe symptoms; 463 without symptoms; and 297 in critical condition.
The death toll rose to 56,538 — 1.54% of all infections — after 34 more people lost their lives.
Meanwhile, 1,349 others got better, raising the recovery count to 3,557,909 or 97.1% of the COVID-19 tally.
Five laboratories did not submit data on time, the DOH added. These laboratories contributed an average of 0.8% of tested samples and 0.4% of positive individuals in the last 14 days.
