Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 16) — BTS member V has tested positive for COVID-19, according to South Korean entertainment company BIGHIT Music which manages the boy group.
In a statement, BIGHIT Music said V went to the hospital Tuesday afternoon “after experiencing a mild sore throat.” He underwent an RT-PCR test and got a positive result Tuesday night.
The company also said V is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and he is not showing “extraordinary symptoms other than mild fever and sore throat.”
“He is currently undergoing treatment at home while waiting for further guidelines from the health care authorities,” the firm added.
V was with other BTS members on Saturday, but everyone was wearing a mask and there was no close contact, BIGHIT Music assured.
The company also said other BTS members are not experiencing any symptom and have received negative results from preemptive self-tests.
BTS members Suga, Jin and RM tested positive for COVID-19 in December 2021. Jimin caught the disease in January 2022.
