Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 4)— The fire that hit the Russian Embassy in Makati City Friday night caused more than ₱100 million in damage, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

In its report on Saturday, the BFP said the blaze — which started at the second floor of the building on Acacia Street — caused an estimated damage of ₱101,109,576.

No casualties were reported.

In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Russian Ambassador Marat Pavlov and his personnel are all safe.

“The Russian Embassy is taking measures to ensure the integrity and security of the chancery premises and the properties inside, as it should, taking special care that diplomatic correspondence is protected,” the DFA added.

The agency also said it will support the ongoing investigation on the incident.

The fire reached second alarm at 8:42 p.m. and was declared out at 2:10 a.m. the following day. Officials have yet to determine its cause.
