Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 4) — President Rodrigo Duterte has completed his quarantine and is currently healthy after his exposure to a COVID-19 case last week, his acting spokesperson Karlo Nograles said on Friday.
Duterte was reportedly exposed on Jan. 28 to a household staff member who had COVID-19. Since he tested negative and showed no symptoms, his quarantine ended on Thursday, Feb. 3 based on isolation protocols.
“Pagkatapos ng kanyang [After his] routine medical checkup, okay naman si Pangulo [the President is okay]. He is as healthy as any healthy individual at his age would be,” said Nograles in a media briefing.
He added that another staff member tested positive on Sunday, but the President’s physician said Duterte was not deemed a close contact of that case. His last exposure to an infected patient was still Jan. 28, Nograles said.
The President is currently in Malacañang and is expected to hold his regular Talk to the People briefing on Monday, Nograles said.
