Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 1) — Fully-vaccinated tourists and returning residents may now enter Aklan and Boracay Island without presenting negative RT-PCR test results, the provincial government said.
Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores made the executive order (EO) public in a Facebook post on Tuesday, days after the national government decided to open the Philippines’ borders to fully vaccinated foreign nationals and scrapping mandatory quarantine starting Feb. 10.
Under the new EO, travelers with a complete dose of COVID-19 vaccine no longer need to show RT-PCR test results.
To prove they have already received their COVID-19 shots, they need to present the following:
— VaxCertPH COVID-19 vaccination certificate with full vaccination status
— locally-issued vaccination card/ID with full vaccination status and with verifiable QR code, or with contact details of the vaccination center
— World Health Organization International Certificates of Vaccination and Prophylaxis/ vaccination card or certificate issued abroad
Unvaccinated or partially unvaccinated individuals, on the other hand, still need to attach their negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to departure when filling up their Online Health Declaration Card (OHDC) at touristboracay.com.
