Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 27) — President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Michael Pastores Ong as Court of Appeals associate justice.
According to the appointment letter shared by Malacañang on Thursday, Ong will take over the post vacated by Samuel Gaerlan, who was named Supreme Court associate justice in January 2020.
Ong, who served as senior deputy executive secretary, was among the 36 candidates recommended by the Judicial Bar and Council to fill six associate justice positions in the appellate court.
