
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 7) – Some universities and colleges in Metro Manila have announced class suspensions and adjustments amid the ongoing wave of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Ateneo de Manila University
De La Salle University
Classes at all levels and work across its campuses — including De La Salle-College of St. Benilde — will be temporarily halted from Jan. 10 to 15 after the university’s health survey revealed that almost 60% of their community members are sick.
Limited face-to-face classes in the College of Nursing and College of Medicine are on hold “until further notice” after some students reported they were experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for the disease. Online classes will still push through.

Lyceum of the Philippines University Manila
An “academic freeze” will be held from Jan. 7 and 10, and asynchronous classes from Jan. 11 to 14.
San Beda College Alabang
The university’s grade school department has declared a “health break” for all its students and faculty members on Jan. 10 and 11, although its offices will remain open. Kinder to Grade 6 pupils will adopt an asynchronous setup starting Jan. 12 until 18. Synchronous classes will resume Jan. 19.
La Salle Green Hills
The school suspended classes for pre-Nursery to Grade 12, including Alternative Education, from Jan. 10 to 14. Its offices will adopt an online setup.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran – Manila
All academic departments except for the School of Law will have a “health break” from Jan. 10-15, where no classes will be held during the week. The School of Law will continue to have classes during that period.
PAREF Rosehill School – Antipolo
All classes will be online from Jan. 17 to Feb. 12. Physical classes for third to fifth year students in Art Appreciation and Readings in Philippine History courses will start on Feb. 14 — if the situation is favorable.
Chiang Kai Shek College
Online classes for all levels — K to 12, and regular and international baccalaureate — are suspended from Jan. 10 to 15 to prioritize the “physical and mental well-being of students and teachers.” The college also cancelled its second term examinations, originally scheduled from Jan. 17 to 21.

Xavier School
Classes and work are suspended from Jan. 10-11.
The university will suspend classes and all synchronous and asynchronous activities from Jan. 10-15 due to increasing number of infected students and faculty.
Don Bosco Makati
The school’s senior high school department will observe a “health break” from Jan. 10-12. Work and classes will resume on Jan. 13.
Marist School Marikina
Lourdes School of Mandaluyong
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
The school will implement an “academic breather” from Jan. 10-11. Classes and work will resume on Jan. 12.
University of Santo Tomas
Frontline offices will implement a skeleton workforce from Jan. 10 to 14. Other offices and academic departments must be on a work-from-home mode within these dates.
Polytechnic University of the Philippines
The university will suspend its synchronous and asynchronous activities for all levels, including their Graduate School and College of Law, from Jan. 10 to 16. The order covers all its campuses. School officials will assess by Jan. 14 if they need to extend the suspension of classes.
Classes and office work are suspended from Jan. 10-15. Classes for the second term will start on Jan. 22.
Miriam College
Its president, Bro. Allan De Castro, ordered a “health break” beginning Jan. 10 until 14. The exam week is moved to Jan. 17-21, and the completion week to Jan. 24-28.
Saint Pedro Poveda College
The college’s grade school department will hold asynchronous or non-simultaneous classes from Jan. 10 to 14.The grade school and high school departments, Skills Development and Technical Education Center, and the college’s campus in Nuvali Laguna will have an “academic ease” from Jan. 10 to 15. Classes and submission of activities are suspended within the week.
PAREF Woodrose School – Muntinlupa
The school has extended its “health break” for students, faculty, and staff until Jan. 14. Regular classes will resume on Jan. 17.
Philippine Women’s University
Classes and submission of requirements are suspended from Jan. 8 to 16 to also give its students, as well as teaching and non-teaching staff, a “health break.”
Colegio San Agustin – Makati
A “university health break” will be enforced in all of its campuses from Jan. 10 to 14, as some faculty members, students, and staff, and their family members, contracted COVID-19. All classes, work, and submission of requirements will be temporarily halted.
Far Eastern University
The college will likewise implement a “health break” from Jan. 10 to 14 due to the health concerns of its students and employees. No online classes and on-site work will be conducted.
