Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 22) – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Wednesday said it is still confirming reports on social media regarding counterfeit ₱1,000 bills with serial numbers ending in 2507.
In an advisory, the BSP also urged the public to check banknotes’ security features to ensure their authenticity.
If the reports are proven true, the central bank warned those found responsible for the manufacture and proliferation of the fake bills will be charged accordingly.
“As such, re-posting or further sharing of this photo or corresponding message on social media with malicious intent is highly discouraged,” the BSP added.
