Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 2) — Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said regardless of President Rodrigo Duterte’s endorsement, should he be elected to the nation’s top post next year, all good programs will continue.
“Ke endorsed, ke hindi talaga naman yung magandang programa dapat ituloy. Lalo na yung Build, Build, Build kasi…dahil sa panahon ng pandemya, yung gobyerno dapat yung magpapagulong, magpapatuloy ng paggulong o pag-andar ng engine ng economy,” Lacson said during a virtual media event on Thursday.
[Translation: Whether we are endorsed not, all the good programs should continue. Especially Build, Build, Build…because of the pandemic the government must keep the wheels of the economy turning and keep the engine running.]
Lacson pointed out that the government’s infrastructure program was a good one because of the return on investment.
However, he said projects with weaknesses must be improved.
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III also said good programs should not be changed once a new administration is elected into office, but rather enhanced.
“Ganon ang attitude namin [That is our attitude], whether we are endorsed or not” he said at the briefing.
