Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 2) — The Inter-Agency Task Force has approved the easing of restrictions in Apayao to Alert Level 2 from Dec. 3 to 15, Malacañang announced Thursday night.
The de-escalation from Alert Level 3 was based on the recent amendment of metrics for determining alert level classification of areas across the country, acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles said in a statement.
The changes include removing the one-week growth rate as basis for shifting from Alert Level 1 to Alert Level 2; escalation from Alert Level 1 to Alert Level 2 if either case classification or total COVID-19 bed utilization increases to moderate or higher risk; and the escalation from Alert Level 2 to Alert Level 3 if both case classification and total COVID-19 bed utilization are at moderate risk, or if case classification is at high to critical risk.
The IATF announced on Monday the alert level classifications to be observed in areas across the country.
Latest government tally shows COVID-19 cases in the country have reached 2,833,473, of which 0.5% or 15,188 are active.
