LTFRB targets to distribute fuel subsidy to PUJ drivers by end of November

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 19) – The Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) targets the distribution of fuel subsidy for jeepney drivers to be started by end of November.

LTFRB Technical Division Chief Joel Bolano said they submitted a list of beneficiaries to Landbank, including jeepney drivers who were already issued fuel subsidy cards when they received assistance in 2018 and 2019.

“Once na maayos lahat ng documents with Landbank and other agencies, masisimulan na agad i-load yung amount para sa mga cards na nauna nating binigay (Once we consolidated all our documents with Landbank and other agencies, we can already start to load the amount to those who have cards),” Bolano told CNN Philippines’ Newsroom Ngayon on Friday.

Bolano added the LTFRB is also coordinating with the Department of Energy and Landbank to hasten the production of cards for new beneficiaries.

Over 136,200 jeepney franchise holders are targeted to receive the fuel subsidy, meant to aid drivers in the wake of rising oil prices.

The national government allotted ₱1 billion for the financial assistance program.
