Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 18) — The country has detected 633 additional cases of the Delta coronavirus variant, bringing the total to 4,431, the Department of Health reported on Monday.
The 748 samples were taken in September. DOH also detected three more cases of the Alpha variant and six cases of the Beta variant.
The Delta variant remains as the most common lineage in the country at 29.2%, the DOH said.
Meanwhile, the risk classification and hospital utilization rate across the country are both at moderate risk.
Zamboanga Sibugay is the only region that remains under high-risk classification, while the hospital bed and ICU bed utilization in Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley are still at high risk.
