Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 23)— Candidates vying for the coveted Miss Universe Philippines crown wowed netizens with their unique cultural attire during the pageant’s national costume competition on Thursday.
In the virtual event streamed on YouTube, the contestants flaunted their vibrant outfits by respective regions — Luzon, the National Capital Region, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The coronation night was supposed to take place on September 25, but the Miss Universe Philippines Organization moved it to a later date. Details will be revealed once the organization secures approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force for the pageant’s “enhanced plans for the finals.”
The preliminary interviews are scheduled on Friday while the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competition will be on September 26.
