Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 7) — Dito Telecommunity passed its second technical audit headed by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), its parent firm said Tuesday.
DITO CME Holdings made the confirmation in a filing with the local stock exchange.
The listed firm said the NTC, quoting the findings of its independent auditor, found the third telco player had a national population coverage of 52.75%, along with minimum average speeds of 89.13 megabits per second (mbps) for 4G and 853.96 mbps for 5G.
“Note that as part of the issuance of its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity in July 2019, Dito Tel committed to deliver National Population Coverage of 51.01% and Minimum Average Broadband Speed of 55 Mbps in the Second Year of its Commitment Period,” said DITO CME.
Dito Telecommunity launched commercial operations this March. As of August, it already had 2 million subscribers. It has also made its services available to over 200 cities and municipalities across the country.
