Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 24) — The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan on Tuesday revealed the initial list of senatorial candidates it will field for the 2022 elections.
Duterte has accepted PDP-Laban’s endorsement for him to run for vice president, the ruling party said in a statement. The group said the President “agreed to make the sacrifice and heed the clamor of the people” to run for the upcoming elections.
The candidates are members of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Cabinet and his allies, according to the faction of the party led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi. They are:
– House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta
– Information and Communications Technology Secretary Gringo Honasan
– Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo
– Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade
– Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar
