Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 23) — Senator Lito Lapid has tested positive for COVID-19, his office confirmed Monday.
Lapid’s doctors said the lawmaker is experiencing mild to moderate infection. He is currently in a hospital in Clark, Pampanga to receive his treatment.
“As this happened when the Senate is not holding sessions, no member of our staff have been considerably exposed except for his personal and close-in employees,” his office said in a statement.
Lapid’s close contacts have tested negative in their antigen tests and are not showing symptoms, his office added.
