Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 28) — Two alleys along Tramo Street in Parañaque City will be placed under granular lockdown starting Thursday due to a suspected case of the feared Delta coronavirus variant.
Parañaque Public Information Officer Mario Jimenez said the lockdown will begin 5 a.m. of Thursday, July 29 and last until August 2, Monday. This is a precaution against the more contagious variant after two residents tested positive for COVID-19, he added.
The local government said no one from the 15 to 20 households in the two areas will be allowed to go out. Local authorities will distribute food packs and provide swab testing for affected residents.
Latest government data showed Parañaque City has a total of 29,790 COVID-19 infections, including 493 active cases.
