
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 25) – Filipino shooter Jayson Valdez made a valiant effort in his Olympic debut despite ranking 44th in the Tokyo Olympics men’s 10-meter air rifle qualification round on Sunday at the Asaka Shooting Range.
Valdez scored a total of 612.6 points in six tries as he ended his maiden Olympic campaign.
Only the top 8 shooters in the qualification round made it to the finals, also happening on Sunday afternoon.
China’s Haoran Yang notched the highest score in the field of 47 shooters with 632.7 points, a qualification Olympic record.
