
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 25) – The Philippine Women’s National Football Team will battle lower ranked squads in the joint 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers in September.
In a draw held on Thursday, the world no. 68 Philippines was picked with world no. 76 Hong Kong and world no. 101 Nepal for the tournament’s Group F.
The games will be played at a centralized venue in Nepal.
The top football team in the bracket will qualify in the final round of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup slated January 15 to February 6 next year. India, Japan, Australia, and China secured their slots in the 2022 continental sports showpiece.
The Philippine Malditas last competed in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, where they finished in fourth place.
