Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 12) — The Philippine flag is waving proudly on Google’s front page as the country marks its 123rd Independence Day.
The doodle shows the Philippine flag waving in the sky. “Filled with symbolic meaning, all of the flag’s colors stand for a unique element of Philippine pride,” the US-based tech giant said in a statement.
Google has been paying tribute to the country’s freedom day celebration since 2009.
It is observed on June 12, marking the end of more than 300 years of Spanish rule in 1898.
